Quaint little cafe / diner. Great food. Everything prepared and served piping hot. I had the fish and chips. One of the best breaded fillets I've had in a long time. Moist and flaky meat. Breading was super on-point. Son had grilled salmon. Grilling could have benefitted from a little more colour but that's just being super nitpicky. The taste itself was wonderful. Not dried out. Price per person: $10–20

6/10. Despite the quality dropping as of recent times, this is still one of my favourite places for cheap Western food. I love their chicken chop that they’ve made the crust crispy by flouring it. However, because of this, the crust can sometimes taste a little bitter due to the flour burning. Still, I enjoy the cook of the chicken as it comes with a nice smoky flavour. The sauce that comes with it is also quite delicious. That said, the meal can get quite “jelak” due to the flour crust and the meaty and fatty sauce. I feel like the meal could use some acidity or freshness. This was improved on recently when the mayonnaise was removed from the salad, though an untreated salad is nothing to really praise. While the fries are still okay, they have fallen in quality. They used to be much crispier, almost glass-like brittleness. Unfortunately, some now are a little soggier, not crispy at all, and are overall not the same level of crispiness. With everything said, $10.90 is a good pricing for 2 chicken chops, a salad, fries and a bun. Meal type: Lunch Price per person: $10–20 Food: 3 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 3

Tuck In a quiet neighborhood, this family-friendly café serves up wholesome, great value delicious food. I came here alone during lunchtime specifically for the lamb chops – generous portions, perfectly cooked, and seasoned just right, a hearty meal! Came back for dinner, ordered beef stew and whole fried chicken (which I didn’t take a picture). The beef stew was absolutely delicious – tender meat, rich, hearty, and packed with flavours. Service was prompt and attentive, the host was incredibly warm and personable. Great food and great service, this place is a real find, and I’ll definitely be coming back!
