I loved the atmosphere in this quirky place, the food was fresh. We had the toast, and the roast beef, two juices. Which are bottled juice so heavily overpriced. The woman behind the counter was super abrupt and rude for some reason when we paid, so that kind of took away from the artisanal experience. Food: 4 Service: 2 Atmosphere: 4 Meal type: Brunch

Went for coffee and a sweet treat. The decor and ambiance is lovely, and the panna cotta and lemon curd tart was delicious. This was my 7th trip to Italy and my 3rd trip to Rome. As a frequent traveler, I’m well aware of the customs and expectations of visiting businesses in Italy, and am highly intentional with my behavior, even attempting to communicate in Italian when possible as I fully agree that Italian businesses should not solely be required to bear the burden of learning English. I was quite surprised by the stand offish nature of the staff and the clear difference in communication style towards the native Italian patrons. As a person of color, this was doubly uncomfortable. I hope this was an off day for the tulipane team, as clearly the owners have poured a lot of love and thought into creating a beautiful space and delicious drink and food offerings. Regardless, as a paying customer, I would hope to be treated with the same standard as all other paying customers. Food: 4 Service: 2 Atmosphere: 4 Meal type: Other Price per person: €1–10
