The most disturbing experience ever. I ordered a beef salad and explained I don't eat pork and im allergic to pork so any thing that's touched pork I cannot eat. The man said the beef and pork are stored in the same betterware tub I failed to understand as a food place with any standards would realise this should never be done. I explained that pork and beef should not be stored together ESPECIALLY IN BRADFORD A MUSLIM POPULATED AREA. Warning to all Muslims tummy first are giving you meat that has literally touched pork. I feel violated. The staff did not care and kept taking about halal pork and beef should not beef in same tub, let's see what trading standards think. Lots of attitude from the staff. How can you have a sandwich shop in Bradford and be selling Muslims beef and chicken that's been contaminated with pork pure disrespect Food: 1 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 1

Hello Mr Docking Station, we remember your visit to Tummy First very well. As you have said in your review, we explained to you that the cooked beef and the cooked pork are stored in the same container (wrapped separately with greaseproof paper and cling film), furthermore the beef is not halal and is not, nor has ever been advertised as such, and since you told us about your allergy we would not, and did not, serve you any beef. You also state that our chicken is “contaminated” with non halal products - we store our poultry separate from other meats, as well as all halal foods separate from non-halal foods, so do not understand how you have managed to draw this conclusion. The Food Standards Agency guidelines state that cooked meat and raw meat should be kept separate and that different types of food (meat, poultry, fish, vegetables etc) should also be kept separate from one another, to which we abide by. There are no guidelines set out as far as we are aware that specifically state that cooked beef and cooked pork cannot be stored together so we would love to know why you think this is the case. All of the FSAs guidelines are readily available on the internet; happy reading! We apologise if you felt that our staff had an attitude with you, however you must understand that when false accusations are made against us we will stand firmly with the truth and the facts, which is what we have done on this occasion. To all of our other customers, we have been open and transparent about the above and understand that it is an important point to address given the cultural and religious background of many people in our community. Over the last 24 years of trading here we have earned your trust and continue serving you with utmost care! however if there are ever any questions or doubts about how we prepare or store our food we urge you to come into the shop and ask. Thank you!
