Really enjoyed the food, and the service was v. friendly - less aloof than similar places in the city. 10% off food (Monday - Thursday) with an Independent Birmingham card. And that's quite a saving!

A bit of a disaster. We arrived at our time of booking. Luckily we got  a table but others were arriving and being sent away.  We were near the door so every time it opened we felt  a cold draft of air .
Felt sorry for the front of house staff as clearly the relaying service was in meltdown. At times we seemed to be forgotten and the food came out so slowly. Some dishes were worth waiting for others not so. We didn`t get out of there until gone 11.30 so that was 4 hours. Other diners were more upset. Instead of enjoying the evening most felt they were in a comedy.

Oh my word. I had a wonderful birthday evening at Turners of Harborne.   We received a warm welcome and were seated straight away and brought drinks.  We opted for the simply Turners menu which is 3 courses of various taster size plates (3 or 4 per course) which encouraged me to try things I wouldn't normally choose such as squid carbonara or Mackerel, lime, buttermilk and seaweed starters.  One of my friends has a seafood allergy which didn't fluster them in the slightest they instantly replaced the seafood with items from the other menu and we were assured there was no chance of cross contamination enabling my friend to enjoy her meal without worry.  The service was exceptional, each serving was explained to us including the best order to eat for the best taste.  The cheese board was huge, no teeny slices of chedder here!  There was an extensive wine list, I don't drink wine at all but my friends were more than happy with the selection and the waiter advised which wines would work well with the menu we had chosen.  The waiter had a wonderful sense of humour and we all thoroughly enjoyed the evening which took roughly 3 hours as the courses were all evenly spaced to allow us to savour each of them and not once did we feel rushed.  All in all we had a fantastic evening.  if you decide to try Turners of Harborne you will not be disappointed.
