Went for a late dinner at 1:00am and it was amazing. Served and chef were kind and the food was cooked to perfection. One of the best meals we’ve had in Japan. Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

This ended up being one of our favorite meals in all of Japan. The food was super flavorful and the drinks were good. We had the broccoli, the omelette and carbonara, and the pizza French fries which were all delicious. Staff were super patient with us even though we only speak English. Portions were generous and overall the price was good. There are so many options for food in Kyoto (especially in this area) but this one is top tier. It’s located up some stairs and down a side alley from the main pontocho alley Meal type: Dinner Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

UNOMi is such a great spot for Italian food. You head upstairs and the first thing you see is a bowl of strawberries and lemons, so it feels warm and cozy. The strawberries and lemons that greet you add such a fresh and charming touch. The chef is moving nonstop, which makes it obvious how much care goes into every plate. The food is fantastic, and the staff is incredibly friendly, which makes the whole experience even better. It is the kind of place that feels inviting from the second you walk in and leaves you wanting to come back. This place is highly recommended and offers great vegetarian options.
