맛있는 떡볶이는 때깔만 봐도 안다. 처음 떡볶이의 때깔을 볼 때부터 심상치 않았다. 어릴 적에 국민학교 앞 문방구 옆 봉봉장에서 먹던 길거리 떡볶이 바로 그 맛. 농염한 소스의 향연이 입 안에서 펼쳐진다. 정신을 차리고 보니 어느새 세 그릇이 비워져 있었다. 튀김을 부르는 소스. 이렇게 농후한 떡볶이 소스를 튀김 없이 그냥 남겨두고 가면 필시 집에 가서 사몰아치는 후회에 밤에 잠도 못 이루리라. 입가심으로 마신 오뎅국물도 깊은 풍미가 우러나온다.
