We walked into this restaurant on a rainy day without a reservation. It wasn’t very crowded, but it has pretty high ratings online. After looking at the menu, it’s not exactly cheap, but definitely not overpriced either—just about what you’d expect for an unagi don. Here’s a quick tip: they might look similar, but be sure to distinguish between unagi-don (eel over rice) and anago-don. One uses freshwater eel, while the other uses saltwater conger eel, which is much cheaper. This place clearly uses the higher-quality unagi. The wait was about 20 minutes since it’s grilled fresh to order. The piping hot eel over rice was absolutely delicious—the rich, fatty eel paired with the savory sauce made it irresistible.
