This incredible south indian spot is located inside the takeout kitchen spot directly across from Peabody Heights Brewery. You order on a tablet inside, or ahead of time on your phone and just pickup for takeout. There is no seating. The food is amazing. I tried the vegetable biryani, a chicken dosa, a mango lassi, the chicken pasta and a fried appetizer. Everything was delicious, fresh, well seasoned and prepared in a reasonable time. The portions are GENEROUS and you will have leftovers! The rice had chunks of Cinnamon stick in it and the aroma of the spices was mouthwatering before I even got it out of the bag. I was so excited to eat I didn't even think about getting photos of the food until after it was gone lol. I can not wait to be back for more! Meal type: Lunch Price per person: $30–40 Food: 5 Vegetarian offerings: Vegetarian menu or section, Clearly labelled vegetarian dishes

We walked in, which I couldn't recommend. I'll save my criticisms of the experience for the Food Co itself, though. The food I got was okay. The dossa was wonderful, the mutton curry I didn't end up finishing. The flavor was fantastic (and yes, the mild is spicy! It's South Indian!). It was just mutton and the curry sauce, and lots of bones. All the meat was cut still on the bone, and it wasn't exactly falling off the bone, either. I had to sit and pick all the meat off the bones before eating it, and even then I would have personally preferred it cooked a little more. It was hard to know what to get because there were very few pictures on the menu (big screen in the building) and clicking on the items dod not reveal any additional info (like, ingredients?). I just picked something, typed my allergens into the notes and hoped for the best (NOT the safest but I took the risk since they're not severe). My allergens were circled on the ticket, so I'm taking that to mean someone took that into account. The entire thing happened without me interfacing with another person, so it's hard to be confident. The portions were also pretty modest for the price. I think about $25 for 2 dossa and a pint(?) container of the curry. All said, I think I would go back having all this in mind and expect I'd net a much better experience. We just happened to be hungry and walked in (unprepared) on a recommendation from a friend. I still recommend you try for yourself and support this endeavor. Food: 3 Service: 2 Atmosphere: 2 Order type: Takeaway Meal type: Dinner Price per person: $20–30 Dietary restrictions: I like that the dossa are all gluten free, but note they're not certified or necessary celiac safe, just made with naturally gf ingredients. Parking space: Plenty of parking Parking options: Free of charge parking lot, Free of charge street parking Parking: Small lot and street parking

Hi M.W., thank you for taking the time to leave such a thoughtful and balanced review. We really appreciate your honesty, and we’re glad you enjoyed the dosa and the flavor of the curry. We’re sorry some parts of your experience felt unclear or inconvenient — especially ordering without enough detail on the menu, trying to navigate dietary information without being able to speak directly with staff, and receiving a mutton curry that didn’t meet expectations in terms of preparation and ease of eating. Your feedback is genuinely helpful, and we understand how those things can affect both confidence and overall enjoyment. We also appreciate you pointing out the need for clearer menu descriptions and better guidance for guests with dietary restrictions. That’s important feedback for us, and it’s something we’ll be taking seriously as we continue to improve.Thank you again for being open to giving us another try. We’d love the chance to give you a smoother and more enjoyable visit next time.— Unavu

Visited Unavu yesterday. Ordered the Mysore Malasa Dosa, Pakoda and Gobi Manchurian. The food tasted just like home! No overwhelming artificial flavours, excessive use of spices. Just simple homemade food and great taste. Will try again 100%.
