This place is absolutely one of the best barbecue joints we've ever been to. I would consider myself a barbecue and smoker aficionado. I own a number of smokers back home and I really have to say this place is on another level. We ordered a full rack of baby back ribs and a pound of tri-tip. We also ordered the beans and the coleslaw. Everything was right on point. The ribs were very meaty and also very tender. The rub was perfect. Not too spicy and just a bit sweet. The tri-tip was sliced super thin, was cooked perfectly, and had the perfect amount of smokiness. The beans are on another level. They're nothing like anything we've ever tried. They are sweet, and have a few ingredients that truly make it stand out. I won't give away any secrets. You just need to try it.

This place is the bomb! We usually stop by Holy Smoke in Bishop or Copper Top in Big Pine on the way up to Mammoth. This time, we took a chance on Uncle Jimmy's and we were impressed. I'm going to say we think this beats the others mentioned (and that's saying a lot). We ordered the Mountaineer with ribs, chicken and tri tip. Everything was absolutely delicious. We had plenty of leftovers after feeding 7 hungry people...and the price was very reasonable. It's a take out restaurant by design (no indoor seating) so they aren't trying a new business model with COVID. In other words, they do take out very well. If you are into BBQ, you must give this place a try!!!

Just stopped off at Uncle Jimmy's BBQ in Mammoth for what have always been my #1 for Beef Ribs. Always the best including their Baby Backs. The Meat quality and preparation are top notch. Today my buddy and I got 2 Full Racks of Baby backs and 3 Mammoth Beef ribs for lunch and take back home for the gangs. Always great to eat food from a place that cares more about the quality and customers are Han anything else.
