While my personal taste for food, is places with buffet or unlimited selections, and pizza with thick crust. I will say this place was darn good. I ordered the vodka pizza. Lightly cooked, as I do not enjoy burnt pizza. It was amazing. Every bite was full of flavor. My friend ordered the Birria beef skillet. It was full of flavourful spices and textures. But not spicy, just to be spicy. For dessert we ordered the bread pudding. They deep fry it. Slightly over fried for my personal liking. However, the flavor, just like everything else was amazing. My roommate who normally does not like bread pudding, loved it. Got to meet Max the manager. Very friendly individual. I will definitely visit this place again, and soon. Great food, great service . Wes was attentive and fulfilled our every need before we even had a chance to think about it! I’m picky too. Service was top notch. Pizza was very good, my husband had the jalapeño popper pizza and we also shared the kale salad, which was huge and amazing. Thrilled that we Boulder people finally have a spot to go where it’s dark, there’s good beer, service is consistent, it’s not super pricey and the food is really good. This is a pic of my vegan cheese pizza with mushrooms and spinach and a FYIPA. Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

A Absolute Deplorable Descent Into Disrespect at Under The Sun Pub & Pizza Rating: Having frequented Under The Sun Pub & Pizza for many years, I held them in high regard for their comfortable ambiance and reasonably consistent service. It is therefore with a heavy heart that I write this review, marking a sharp decline in the quality of our dining experience. It is not an easy task to dismantle the goodwill of years, but our visit last night seems to have managed it with an astounding lack of grace. On the receiving end of shockingly poor customer service, our night started with high spirits as we walked in, looking forward to a cherished family dinner at our local go to. The stage was set for a great evening, but it turned into a masterclass in how not to treat customers. Our order for the evening was simple enough: a grilled chicken Caesar salad for my mother and a mushroom Swiss burger for my spouse along with a an appetizer a few drinks and a pizza. We made sure our server understood our requests by confirming our orders and responded accordingly, but to our dismay, our orders arrived bereft of their starring ingredients – the chicken and the burger. A puzzling oversight for any eatery, much less one with the reputation of Under The Sun. Our server, attempting to rectify the situation, disappeared into the kitchen, only to be replaced by an allegedly higher authority. This individual, a supposed manager, approached us not with humility or understanding, but with an argumentative attitude, denying any mistake on their part. According to him, we must have been mistaken because the server had not noted it down. One expects management to exhibit decorum and responsibility in the face of an error. What we received instead was an ultimatum to accept our incomplete meals or leave, the dismissive man exuding an air of condescension as if doing us a favor by allowing us the privilege of dining there. The audacity! An eleventh-hour attempt by another staff member to rectify the situation was appreciated but ultimately came too late. The damage was done. We left the premises, dumbfounded and embarrassed, our appetites squashed by the indelicate handling of the situation. If this is the level of customer service that Under The Sun now offers, it is a sad departure from their previously set standards. The degrading treatment we received from the dismissive man calls into question his suitability for a role in hospitality. It is tragic to watch a once-cherished establishment tumble into mediocrity. Unless a drastic reevaluation of their customer service approach is made, I fear this establishment's days under the sun are numbered. As for us, we are decidedly done, our enthusiasm for this restaurant thoroughly extinguished by a single horrifying experience. Service: Dine in Meal type: Dinner Price per person: $30–50
