If you are looking for a classic, welcoming local spot that gets the fundamentals exceptionally right, The Union Inn and Restaurant (46 Commercial St, Norton, Malton YO17 9ES) is an absolute must-visit. From the second we stepped inside, the warmth of the venue was immediately obvious. It possesses that cozy, traditional pub charm that is becoming increasingly rare these days—a relaxed, unpretentious atmosphere where you feel completely welcome whether you are stopping by for a quick bite or settling in for a relaxed evening. Unmatched Hospitality & Service The absolute standout feature of our visit was, without a doubt, the incredible team. The staff here are simply wonderful—warm, attentive, and deeply accommodating. They genuinely couldn’t do anything more to help us throughout our time there. Nothing felt like a hassle or an afterthought; they went above and beyond to ensure every detail was taken care of, checking in at just the right moments with genuine smiles and great local friendliness. It is rare to encounter service that feels this authentic and dedicated. Freshly Cooked, Authentic Homemade Food As for the food, it was nothing short of lovely. I stayed here for one night as I was attending a wedding locally. There was some maintenance work going on in the corridors but the place will be even fresher to guests once that's finished. The car park was safe, secure and I didn't panic about leaving my classic car in it even for a moment, unlike some other places I've stayed. I enjoyed breakfast the next morning too, and the staff members were very dedicated to making sure their customers were happy.
