Every year since 1988 when I've been to my timeshare at St Mellion in August I always make a point of visiting the Union Inn for a pint or two. I have always found the premises welcoming despite sometimes being busy being positioned under the famous old bridge as she is the staff always have time to chat. If you are into the plastic and chrome atmosphere of the modern 'chain' pubs then don't go in. If you want to be whisked back the the days of when pubs were pubs and the centre of the community then do go in and be educated as to how a real pub should be. I wrote this post, something I don't normally do. because of the vile post put in by someone who obviously has a down on superb old fashioned pubs such as the Union Inn. There is NO smell of urine and the toilets are acceptable to the pubs character. This post is the result of years of visiting her from the other side of the country and unbiased as I suspect that one is that was previously posted. A big 'well done' and thankyou to the landlord and his staff from an 'Essex Boy'!... Price per person: £20–30 Food: 3 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5 Vegetarian options: U/K Dietary restrictions: U/K
