Urizun was one of the highlights of my Okinawa trip! The Rafute was super flavorful and tender, and the Goya Champuru was the best I’ve had so far. The place is cozy, and the staff were so kind. I even got a free miso paste as a gift. Definitely a memorable Okinawan meal! Price per person: ¥4,000–5,000 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

Tucked away in a cozy corner just minutes from both Asato and Makishi Stations, this charming Okinawan restaurant offers an authentic local vibe away from the hustle and bustle. Their menu features a wide variety of dishes, ranging from fresh sashimi to traditional Okinawan specialties. While the menu isn’t available in English, each dish is accompanied by pictures, and a quick read about Okinawan cuisine makes it easy to identify your choices. For an effortless experience, I recommend trying the Okinawan Cuisine set, which includes delightful items such as umibudo (seagrapes), nakami soup, fried rice, taro fritters, and rafute (braised pork belly). A standout for me was the goya (bitter melon) stir fry — it’s sharp, refreshing, and surprisingly not as bitter as I expected. The pork belly was also exceptional; I was tempted to order a second serving! It pairs perfectly with an Orion beer or two. The staff was courteous and attentive, adding to the warm, welcoming atmosphere. If you are visiting Okinawa and looking to escape the sometimes crowded Kokusai Street, consider taking a break here for lunch or dinner. Thank you for taking the time to share your experience. We’re glad the location and authentic local vibe provided a pleasant escape from Kokusai Street. It’s wonderful to hear the goya stir‑fry and pork belly were highlights, and that our team was attentive. We will consider adding clearer English descriptions to the menu to help visitors. We look forward to your next visit.
