This our first time in Kyoto. And our airbnb host, Shimpei-san, suggested to visit Utakata. And it did not disappoint. All the dishes we ordered tasted good - we had the tofu with olive oil, miso with greens, dried fish (anchovies), brocolli with shrimp, grilled salmon mackerel, sweet boiled potato, traditional kyoto soup and yuba. All dishes were cooked by the owner herself. I just forgot the name of the lady that attended to our table. She was so nice explaining the menu to us. The lady owner also welcomed us and asked us how we came to know about the place. And before we left, she again came out and thank us and said (through the help of google translate) - hope we come back.. so nice and warm.. we had a photo taken with her.
