wonderful little oasis in the middle of the city, boasting excellent service and a vintage altec lansing sound system that fills the café with jazz. i first visited in 2018, thinking i'd just pass by. i came back in 2023 after the travel lockdown to get my feet wet back in japan again, and wouldn't you know it - master Dai remembered who i was, despite only having set foot in the café once on a whim. he even had the lowdown on other key jazz spots in the area, as Voice has been a staple in that scene for decades. you bet your bottom dollar i'm taking an afternoon whenever i'm in kobe just to visit this place for a cigarette and coffee!
