Had a really great dining experience here. The food was beautifully presented and full of flavour — every dish was well thought out and nicely executed. The seafood was fresh, sauces were balanced, and even the drink was a nice touch. Service was smooth and the atmosphere made it perfect for a relaxed dinner. Definitely a place I’d recommend to anyone looking for good food and a quality dining experience. Will come back again Meal type: Dinner Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

I visited this restaurant recently and left deeply disappointed. 1)We were the second table to arrive, but immediately after being seated, we were told almost one-third of the menu was unavailable — including the signature dish. The menu made no mention that advance booking was required for it. We were also informed the restaurant has no alcohol license and cannot serve any alcoholic drinks at all. And guess what.... not a single one of these major issues was mentioned to us when we made our booking!! 2)The service was poor. When I asked a waiter about the wine list, he only said they couldn’t provide any, told me to wait a moment, then disappeared and never returned. I had to flag down a second waiter myself. Staff showed no concern for the inconvenience and even suggested we buy drinks from nearby shops. If we had been told earlier, I would have simply brought my own from home. 3)The food was average at best. My main course, pigeon, was extremely salty and barely edible. 4) I do not expect a chef to greet every customer, but during our two-hour visit, he only came out three times. Every single time, he only greeted, served free amuse-bouche, and attended to one table — clearly his friends. This restaurant hides important information before booking, provides careless service, serves average food, and prioritizes friends over new guests. I cannot recommend it. I rarely write reviews, but after two dinners at Voon in Kennedy Town, this one is more than deserved... The space is intimate, understated, quiet and confident with the elegance that afirms taste and class much like Chef Edward Voon himself. I’ve followed Chef Voon since his time in Singapore, and seeing his cuisine evolve while staying true to his identity has been a real pleasure. Securing a Monday reservation felt lucky. Booking the private room again on Thursday for a VIP dinner felt necessary ! From the moment we arrived, the service was polished without being stiff, it was warm, precise, and genuinely attentive. The wine list deserves special mention as it was the first things that welcome me as I entered the room. Serious Bordeaux vintages, beautiful labels, and thoughtful depth. It’s the kind of cellar that signals confidence and respect for what’s about to come out of the kitchen... I wan't ready... The menu strikes a rare balance between refinement and soul, fine dining and casual fare with elevated culinary techniques... Here is what we had :. Amuses bouche - The har cheong chicken wings were deeply aromatic and perfectly charred, a nostalgic Southeast Asian note executed with technical precision. - The Duroc pork secreto skewer was beautifully marbled, grilled to that ideal point where fat renders but the meat remains succulent. Cold Entree : - A luxurious composition of Oscietra caviar, red prawn tartare, sea urchin and crustacean jelly all layered, saline, textural. Indulgent but controlled. No excess, just harmony as you bite thru with taste that exhale into your mouth. Warm Entree : - The Amadai with preserved mustard greens was an elegant piece, masterful cooking technique showcasing the fish’s delicate sweetness against subtle acidity. - The razor clam with Malabar black pepper sauce and crisp vermicelli delivered heat and crunch without overpowering the shellfish’s natural sweetness. I hope to have this again. Main courses : - The Brittany lobster laksa linguine was, for me, a highlight. A beautiful intersection of French product and Southeast Asian depth. The laksa base was rich yet precise, coating the pasta without heaviness. I lived in Singapore but I never was lucky enough to try such a delight. - The roast three yellow chicken with fragrant pearl rice showed mastery of fundamentals. Perfectly rendered skin, moist flesh, and rice perfumed just enough to elevate without distracting. Comfort elevated to fine dining mutiple times over and over again. - The rock pigeon with celery root and raspberry jus was technically flawless. Tender, iron-rich, balanced by acidity and earthiness. This is such a difficult dish to master. Being able to eat this felt a privilege. Desert : - The pandan crème brûlée with coconut ice cream closed the meal with fragrance and finesse. Not overly sweet, just clean and elegant. As everything is homemade you can feel the effort and dedication bs some store bought products. This was, without exaggeration, one of the best dinners I’ve had in a long time. I’ve read some of the other reviews and genuinely struggle to reconcile them with my experience. What I encountered was precision, generosity, personality, and a clear culinary point of view. Chef Voon has always cooked with identity and intent. In Hong Kong, at Voon, he seems completely at home and it shows. I’ll be back... Food: 5 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 5
