I went to Valcalepio for their 1yr anniversary of receiving guests in their home. Giorgio and Sonia prepare their food with organic herbs and vegetables from their garden. Their year anniversary was with a puppet show, a panel of experts talking about sustainable gardening and projects in and around the area. Excellent conversations. Giorgio makes fresh bread products and lots of different dipping sauces. Their efforts support a 25+yr project in the south of Quito, an after-school lunch program and tutors helping with homework. They also have a food program for senior citizens. So supporting their agrorurism endeavor you are inadvertently helping their foundation. It is a true authentic experience to visit this location in Alangasi, Valle de los Chillos. Highly recommend as a break from your routine....to pamper yourself with good food in an incredible ambiance. Restaurant or bnb. Both with previous reservation.
