We made reservation for Valentine’s Day dinner on January 10th, being the boys favorite restaurant.
Well our Valentine’s Day dinner had a very bad turn of events.
We arrived at the restaurant 5:20 pm and I asked if it’s possible to have a high top table, we’ve been told very cold that our reservation is 10 min away and they will see what they can do then . In about 5 min we have been approached and told that they can only seat us at this table for 4 or we can wait 30-40 min for a high top table . The table that was offered to us was placed extra right near the desk reception , few feet way, against a wall with shelfs that was holding takeout bags, behind the desk , our direct view, you could see a lot of bags a e very dirty floor & door. Of course we didn’t want to seat there and we decided to wait for another table.
We waited until 5:55pm . In this time there were seated 3 table for 4 . When we finally approached the manager asking why we are not seated , having available tables , he simply said “ you gave up your table and you need to wait”. Of course we left , I was in tears, I couldn’t believe our special night was ruined.
Our special Valentine’s dinner with our boys was ruined by this manager who simply acted like “ my way or the highway “. It was devastating for my kids, specially for my autistic son . The hostess were seeing me comforting my crying son .
I could definitely understand the need for extra tables for a very busy special night, but that manager should learn how to please customers and make them feel welcome , especially when it is a holiday special evening, and when definitely a reservation was made 5 weeks in advance and tables are available.
My takeout is , will never return to this restaurant. You should think more when you make a reservation and maybe take your business elsewhere, we have so many restaurants in our downtown Naperville.
