If you happen to be around Santa Maria in Monterone, visit this restaurant. If you have never tasted Italian and Mediterranean cuisines, you should reserve a table at Vecchia Locanda. Another place that I would give more than 5 stars if I could. What wonderful service, atmosphere and food. I could be wrong but from my observation this was a family run place. With the parents and adult children all operating as part of the staff. We felt as though we were members of the family being welcomed with a smile, homemade food, and the utmost care put into our dining experience. Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5 Price per person: €30–40 Vegetarian options: Did not ask but many dishes appeared to suit vegetarian dining! Dietary restrictions: Again did not ask but based off how kind and caring the staff were I’m sure there is something for everyone to eat here Parking space: Not sure Parking: We walked here so no clue about parking! Kid-friendliness: They have high chairs and staff that makes kids feel like they are part of the meal! Wheelchair accessibility: Would be tough to get inside due to immediate stairs and a small door but very accessible if dining outside!

We had a wonderful experience at La Vecchia Locanda today. For starters, I ordered the octopus with potatoes, and for the mains we had the ossobuco and a fillet mignon with wild mushroom sauce. The food was absolutely delicious — everything was beautifully prepared and full of flavour. What made our visit truly special, however, was the service. Our waiter was warm, friendly and genuinely attentive. He answered all our questions about the menu, shared a few laughs with us, and struck the perfect balance between being present when needed and never intrusive. He always made sure we had everything we needed and was right there whenever we wanted to ask for something or place another order. Today is my wife’s birthday, and she was surprised with a little celebratory “birthday cake” with a candle. It was such a sweet and thoughtful gesture, and it meant a lot to us. We had a fantastic evening and left with the best impressions. Highly recommended — a truly charming restaurant with excellent food and outstanding service.
