This is not typical Moroccan food. So good for local people and tourists who want a change as well. There are a lot of options for vegetarian, gluten free, no lactose etc. It is close to the Blue Gate and easy to find. It's not a huge place so if it's a group larger than 6 definitely book ahead. Also, note there are no toilets there. Meal type: Dinner

I’m writing this review after just experiencing the best culinary experience in Fes. If you’re staying in Fes, Morocco, then Veggie Pause is a must experience. If you’re traveling through Fes, stop and try this restaurant. If your itinerary doesn’t include Fes, then add it so that you can try this restaurant. I’m not a vegetarian but I’m a vegetarian ally because my wife is vegetarian and I love my wife. Anyway, our tour guide recommended Veggie Pause as a great option for vegetarians so I wanted my wife to try it since her restaurant menu options are usually limited. She ordered the Belhara and I ordered the Skewer Halloumi so we could share and try multiple menu items. One bite of the Belhara masterpiece and my taste buds have never been happier. The pepper cream, mushrooms, caramelized onions, avocado, eggs, and maasdam cream create a symphony of savory and slightly sweet that has to be experienced to be believed. It was unbelievably delicious and calling it a sandwich does it an injustice although it technically is one, it is so much more. The Skewer Halloumi held its own and was almost equally delicious. The halloumi was perfectly paired with the tomato cream sauce and basmati rice. The food was filling and reasonably priced which can rarely be said for vegetarian dishes. I wished that I was staying longer so that I could sample more items from their menu. There were so many appealing options that I had a hard time deciding and may I remind you that I’m not a vegetarian. Honestly, I don’t think that you can go wrong with any item on the menu. A customer sitting next to us couldn’t help but share how good his Capistrano pizza was and vowed to come back the next day. We were kindred spirits in that way because I felt the same way about our dishes. When you experience great food, you can’t help but share it with others which is why I’m writing this review.
