Fabulous. Originally being from NJ, I’m very critical of Italian food. Vern’s hits the mark in every way. So cozy and welcoming, our server was THE nicest, and the food was all incredible. Every dish had a lot of depth in flavor and was creative. We loved the chicken cutlet, the sauce underneath was tangy and delicious. Will be back a million more times, I’m sure! Food was fantastic. If you’re not seated upstairs or in the back, then it’s extremely noisy and chaotic. So your experience will depend on what table you get. The broken meatball pasta was so good. I forgot to take a picture of it before he destroyed the thing. There wasn’t anything wrong with the service or the food. The changing up to their new Fall menu in a week. There’s no reservation so get there earlier or expect to wait. Well worth a try. Veal cutlet was excellent as was the Vern salad. Tomato pie is the best I’ve had. If you can’t find street parking go to that large parking lot two blocks over and just pay a few bucks to park for dinner. Food: 4 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 2 Price per person: $50–60
