Absolutely fantastic food. It was a rainy and cold spring day and we first went to Little Donkey: no go for our party of 6 and two infants. Across the street was Viale. I went in and we were given a time limit (due to it being a Saturday) but sat immediately, not a problem. A bottle of Tuscan IGT was about $60, fair. We ordered two salads to share along with the delicious - and gratis - breadsticks. The waitress was very kind and helpful, and the manager/host was a cool dude who looked like someone famous but I can’t place him. Anyway, I got the trout entree and let me tell you I wanted to lick the plate: it was so delicious. Everybody else got either pasta or the steak entree. The one special was a lobster rigatoni that I wanted initially but man am I glad I got the fish! I don’t think I’ll ever forget it, seriously. Also the prices were extremely reasonable: the specials were low-/mid-30s if I remember correctly, and my trout was low-30s. We got sat and were on our way out, as agreed, within 90 minutes, as they had several reservations coming in. I would absolutely come back here, it was stupendous. 10/10 would recommend. We came for the oyster happy hour (5–7 PM). The oysters weren’t very large, but they were very fresh and flavorful—we’d definitely come back for them. The carbonara was unfortunately far too salty and hard to enjoy. The meatballs were good, with a firm texture and a rich tomato and cheese flavor. Service was excellent—very attentive and welcoming.
