While the new Victor Restaurant is being built, the current location is the library within the Le Germain Hotel. Which actually made for a quaint locale. I wanted a light dinner, so opted for the Caesar salad, with an added avocado. Absolutely stunning in presentation and taste. Although, to be honest, I would have preferred ever-so-slightly more dressing. Nevertheless, it was very satisfying. The bacon crumble was cooked perfectly, as well. I then chose the vanilla cheesecake with fruit compote. My gosh, what a huge slice! Very light in texture, it was a perfect compliment. My only real complaint is that they did not offer a Cabernet Sauvignon by the glass. The Merlot I chose was okay, but I prefer a nice Cab with dinner. We visited Victor for Valentine's Day dinner. The food was very tasty but not exceptional. The duck could use more flavour and the brussels sprouts were a tad too salty. The ambience and decor were great. You have to trek upstairs to use the bathroom. The service was very attentive (a bit too attentive) at the beginning and then when the dinner rush came, the server was hard to track down. Food: 3 Service: 3 Atmosphere: 5
