We stopped in to try the salsa lessons they offer in Thursdays but we were too stuffed after the amazing food to stay this time but we will definitely be back.. we had a mojito and I asked for a fun not too sweet mocktail and she made me the best spritzer with a blood orange top The queso was seasoned but not spicy The jalapeno on the nachos was refreshing and spicy The chicken on the quesadilla was very well seasoned but our favorite was the fried shrimp! Rosa was great and made my birthday lunch even more memorable. The food portions were larger than expected and delicious. They also treated me to a triple slice of chocolate cake that took me and my friends to finish . If you have a sweet tooth that’s the one for you. I had the wings and they were good. We will be going back for their karaoke night. Meal type: Lunch Price per person: $10–20 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

I purposely avoided looking at social media or the menu before visiting. I wanted to experience the place completely fresh. All I knew going in was that Vida Roxy was supposed to be Killeen’s first “upscale” dining experience, which honestly felt refreshing for the area. The ambiance absolutely delivers on that expectation. The lighting is great, the leather booth seating is comfortable, and the bar in the corner looked well-stocked and packed with people. The overall vibe definitely feels more upscale than what Killeen usually offers. The only thing that caught me off guard was the DJ booth. I wasn’t sure if the concept is restaurant by day and club by night. Not necessarily a bad thing—just unexpected. Ambiance: 5/5 When we walked in, we weren’t greeted. Normally that wouldn’t bother me too much, but there also wasn’t any guidance on how the place operates—whether we should order at the bar, wait for a host, or seat ourselves. After standing around for a bit, we just seated ourselves. Once the servers came to the table, they were pleasant and attentive. Service overall was solid. The only mismatch was the apparel of the staff, which didn’t quite reflect the upscale atmosphere the restaurant is clearly aiming for. To be fair, we also had a server who appeared to be in training, so I’m willing to be a little lenient there. Service: 4/5 Now for the food. Since I intentionally didn’t look at the menu beforehand, I was expecting something that matched the upscale vibe of the restaurant. The reality is that the food didn’t really match the atmosphere. The menu reads more like something you’d see at a taco truck. Don’t get me wrong—I love a good taco truck. Breakfast tacos, pastor tacos, all of it. But when you walk into a place that looks like a modern upscale restaurant, you expect something elevated. Upscale Mexican to me means things like fish dishes, shrimp plates, soups, handmade tortillas, thoughtful presentation—something that matches the setting. Instead, a lot of the menu felt very standard. The tacos were good, but nothing particularly special. No standout ingredients, no unique presentation. The nachos were literally drizzled with what tasted like gas-station style cheese. Again—not bad, just not what you’d expect from the environment. We ordered: • El Desayuno (yes at night) • Nachos with grilled chicken • Gringas (pastor tacos) Everything tasted good. Just not memorable. Christopher, Thank you so much for your review. We are working on making the menu better and you are right; we are a restaurant during the day and a bar on Friday and Saturday evenings and open until 2am. We did have two new servers also and I am sure one of them served you but they are being trained right now. Love to have you back when we produce our new menu with added items including fish & shrimp tacos or have you here for the bar experience after 9pm on a Friday or a Saturday.
