Having driven past this establishment many times, we decided to try it for lunch today. Can I just say we were glad we did. There is ample parking to the rear with an entrance at the rear and also at the front. We were impressed the moment we walked in. The interior was very well set out, clean and tidy, in fact the bar area was the cleanest I have seen in any establishment, you could virtually eat your dinner off it. We were greeted by a server then taken to our booth, (there are other tables available but we were happy with a booth). We placed our order and our food and lattes came out soon after. Can I just say without doubt the food served to us was one of the best meals we have had all year. On par with the Wee Restaurant in North Queensferry and the food served would give Tom Kitchin in Leith a good run for his money. If this isn't a Mitchelin recommended restaurant, then it should be. The food was amazing, tasty, good sized portions and although, yes, a bit more expensive than other establishments, the quality of the food more than made up for it. The servers were polite, prompt and well presented. The views out over the Silvery Tay, railbridge and Dundee were beautiful. Ample seating inside and outside. The toilets were spotlessly clean, tidy and smelled great (extra points for having great toilet roll too). Full marks and well done to the cleaners. I can highly recommend eating here. Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5 Meal type: Lunch Price per person: £20–30 Dietary restrictions: The servers did ask if we had any food allergies. Parking space: Plenty of parking Parking options: Free of charge parking lot, Free of charge street parking Parking: Ask for a table at the window, the views are stunning. Even the view in the mirror in the booth were good.

My wife and I enjoyed a lovely meal at The View Restaurant recently, well worth the trip across from Dundee. We were down in Dundee for a weekend break & our location close to city centre meant it was an easy trip across the Tay by bus to the restaurant. The food was excellent, very well presented, portion sizes were generous and importantly tasted fantastic, across all 3 courses. My only very slight grumble was the service, but talking to the owner after our meal, he explained that some of the staff were new and were training. Would certainly recommend and afterwards we did enjoy the 'view' as we waited for the return journey back across the Tay. Food: 5 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 4 Service: Dine in Meal type: Dinner
