The staff is very friendly, the portions are generous, too generous with chips I would say, and the price is good. The food is freshly cooked which is a plus. However, the chips are very soggy and undercooked, i think they are probably too big to cook in an acceptable amount of time. The batter is not crispy but a bit soggy too, not sufe if because the fish has been sitting on top of soggy chips in the 5 minutes it took me to get home, it looked crispy when it was just cooked. These points can be improved. I would love to go regularly and support local but don't really want to pay for soggy chips.

Meh. Soggy chips, soggy batter on an overcooked bland piece of cod. The mushy peas were crying for some seasoning and were watery. Went here because the ratings were high, but I won't be going again. Portion size was good though, well priced and the staff friendly.

Lovely freshly cooked food. Finally a quality fish and chip takeaway in Merstham. We’ll be back for sure. Would recommend people try the Village Fish Bar. Very impressed.
