Last night we had an absolutely disgusting and unacceptable experience at Villagio Restaurant. I have been coming here for years, just like I have visited Carpaccio in Bal Harbour and the Sawgrass location owned by the same owners, and I have never experienced something so outrageous and disrespectful. I specifically requested a table outside and far from other diners so my child and her best friend — who are toddlers — could play and enjoy themselves. They were simply playing around the fountain like normal children. Out of nowhere, an older man from another table walked over, grabbed my child by the hand, and screamed at her “STOP IT NOW.” Let me make something very clear: no stranger has the right to touch my child under any circumstances. The fact that a grown adult thought it was acceptable to physically grab a toddler and yell at her is beyond disturbing. What is even more disturbing is that management did absolutely nothing to address the behavior of the man who touched my child. Instead, the manager Nuro came to our table and told us that we needed to pay our bill and leave immediately, claiming we were “being a disturbance.” My friend was literally in the middle of trying to close the tab using Apple Pay, and her daughter was on the phone with her father. The manager repeatedly said he “didn’t care” and insisted we needed to leave right away. The way we were spoken to was rude, aggressive, and completely unprofessional. This was humiliating and hostile treatment toward two mothers and small children who were simply dining there. What makes this even more ridiculous is that when we walked inside the restaurant there was a baby crying loudly, yet apparently that was acceptable. But toddlers playing quietly outside near the fountain somehow became a problem. If this restaurant cannot tolerate children, they should be honest and clearly say that families are not welcome. To make matters worse, our server Francesca was extremely slow and seemed poorly trained. Communication was minimal, service was disorganized, and overall the staff appeared completely uninterested in providing decent hospitality. And honestly, the food itself is disgusting and extremely overrated. I have continued coming here out of habit, but the quality has clearly gone downhill. In fact, I once even saw a cockroach in my food and chose not to make a big issue about it at the time, which now I deeply regret. Between the terrible food, the unprofessional service, and the shocking way management handled a situation involving a stranger grabbing a child, this place has reached a new level of unacceptable. This experience was hostile, disrespectful, and completely outrageous. I strongly recommend that families avoid this restaurant. The food is bad, the service is worse, and clearly children are not welcome here. Food: 1 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 1
