Me and my wife did not feel comfortable here (and I would guess that other nerodivergent people would feel the same) - the sign outside for the banquet/buffet was vague and if we knew about all the rules and the fact that it isn't actually "all you can eat" we would have not entered - the staff where very quick and blunt, which made the ordering process even more confusing and messy than if they took the time to explain it better. - the QR code websites to order had a difficult interface to navigate and where slow and kept crashing... This along with the 2hr time limit and rushed atmosphere was stressful. - (minor point but important for people sensitive to sound) happy birthday music played for another table... But it was at a piercingly loud volume and continued to play for longer than welcome. - the amount of food (on each dish)for a "banquet" was very small. - staff seemed to avoidant to us - when we decided that this experience was not for us we asked if it was possible to just pay for what we had (2 drinks and a total of 12 dishes -1 that never came). The waitress did not listen(ignored our request) and brought the full bill for the "banquet" £78approx, when we asked again if we could just pay for what we had because we didn't want to stay for any longer, the waitress interrupted and was not even willing to consider or listen to us as to why. - I can accept that we asked for the banquet so we should pay for it... But we was very disappointed that we weren't even listened to. We didn't want to argue further with the waitress to avoid making a scene, once I payed she disappeared and I wasn't even offered a receipt, we felt very un-welcome. The small amount of food we had was nice, we just wished we could have felt comfortable enough to stay for the whole dining experience that we payed for. Food: 4 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 2 Price per person: £30–40 Recommendation for vegetarians: Somewhat recommend Vegetarian offerings: Clearly labelled vegetarian dishes

Being new to Cardiff and big sushi fans we were excited to try Volcano Japanese, unfortunately we were very disappointed. We went for the “all you can eat” (which is actually not “all you can eat”) lunch which was £28 each. The price would have been fine if the quality of the food matched, however, the sushi was incredibly bland and some of the portions were minuscule (one of the orders was literally one piece of sushi on a platter, we found it quite amusing). Between the 2 of us we probably tried 20 individual dishes (which is not as much food as you would think). We both felt that the sushi rolls in particular were basically the same 3 or 4 ingredients recycled into different forms, they all tasted identical. The best thing was the sushi taco, the worst thing was the crab stick salad which consisted of 1 miniature crab stick on top of a mound of plain ice-burg lettuce. It deserves one star but the waitress was nice and the sushi taco was good. Service: Dine in Meal type: Lunch Price per person: £20–30
