I’ve already eaten here twice because the owner is a true yakitori artist. The sasami (chicken tenderloin), chicken hearts, and liver were all delicious and cooked to perfection. The atmosphere is very welcoming, and the service is excellent. I’m obviously a foreigner and only speak a few words of Japanese, yet they were very patient and kind. They also have an English menu. A must-try! Meal type: Dinner Price per person: ¥2,000–3,000 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

My husband and I walked in to Wakamusha without a reservation (fyi it’s easily made online - just do it 24 hrs before!) but as we were outside searching for a backup plan, they saved us by graciously allowing us to take a couple seats at their bar counter. This yakitori restaurant is small and cozy. It does allow smoking inside, but even as non smokers, we didn’t notice whatsoever. The two person team efficiently cooks, serves, and manages the restaurant and it was easily the friendliest and smoothest dinner experience we had in Japan. The food is soooo good. It comes out piping hot and freshly prepared (you can see them prepping the skewers behind the bar) make sure to order the zangi (hokkaido’s fried chicken) and any of their meatball skewers - we especially loved the lamb. They asked if we preferred salt or sauce, but we asked them to choose whatever they recommended and every bite was perfection. There is an English menu, but they also speak Korean! Prices are more than reasonable in our opinion. We would have happily ordered more if we weren’t so stuffed! Please make a reservation for this amazing yakitori experience when you’re in Sapporo. Would give them 10 stars if we could :) Meal type: Dinner Price per person: ¥2,000–3,000 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
