I had just arrived home from Walmart with my husband and went through a very unpleasant situation that cost me time and patience. I picked up a Ninja electric pressure cooker from the Walmart clearance/promotion shelf because it had a promotional tag showing a price of $90. I became interested in the product and took it to the checkout along with my groceries. When the items were scanned, an electric air mattress with a yellow clearance tag priced at $40 was scanned first, and that price matched what was advertised by the store. However, when the pressure cooker was scanned, the system showed a price of $135 instead of the advertised $90. The cashier, Elizabeth, who was incredibly kind and helpful and deserves my compliments for her excellent customer service, tried to resolve the issue and called another employee. That employee stated that the price tag did not correspond to the product. I explained that I still wanted the product, but I wanted to pay the price shown on the tag. He then called a supervisor to resolve the issue. A few moments later, an employee named Caleb arrived. Honestly, I would never want to see him in front of me again. He repeated that I could not take the product because the price was wrong. My husband explained that, by law, I should be allowed to purchase the item at the advertised price. Caleb then asked whether I would be willing to cancel the purchase, and I said no, that I wanted the product at the advertised price. It was not my fault that Walmart had failed to check its price tags. I simply wanted the law to be respected by an establishment that I have always liked and where I shop weekly for many things for my home. Later, another woman arrived with Caleb and verified that the tag was indeed incorrect, but that I was entitled to purchase the product. While she was processing the authorization, Caleb kept looking at me seriously and in a way that felt intimidating. He asked whether I had had a good day, and I said yes and asked how his day had been. I do not remember whether he answered. I felt extremely intimidated and uncomfortable with the way this employee treated me. It will be a long time before I return to this location that I used to enjoy so much, and I sincerely hope I never have to see this employee again. I also hope Walmart provides a solution and some form of resolution regarding the way I was treated. This incident occurred at the Walmart in Roscoe, Illinois, on June 3, 2026, at approximately 9:00 PM.
