The definition of homely, and an amazing place to unwind in. The highlight of my trip to Japan in terms of restaurants, perhaps because it didn't feel like a restaurant. It felt like I was at a tucked away family beach house, enjoying the day. A lot of restaurants try to capture the essence of nostalgia and the idea of relaxing at home, but WanderKitchen captures it so lovingly. The staff are incredibly friendly, the spaces are quiet and bursting with warmth, local art, and ramshackle furniture. The menu is only in Japanese, but the chef speaks English and can help you. There are many options! I got the Chili and it was incredible, as was the Carrot Cake. I wish I could have gone back to try the Cajun Pork Belly, but it was unfortunately closed when we returned on a Friday evening. Please, visit this place, I know I will return here as soon as I can.
