Albeit a tad pricier than most breakfast places in Cuenca, its an overall satisfactory Desayuno. It’s a quaint but very pleasant family restaurant in a quiet neighborhood. The Breakfast Menu is simple. the Desayuno Costeño comes with a flavorful Tigrillo BUT the seco de carne is on the salty side. the Benedictino is served with crispy bacon and perfectly poached eggs BUT the thick hollandaise sauce is very bland and excessive amount. It is served on a flattened sweet croissant, which unfortunately kills the savoriness of a Benedict. the Desayuno Wantuk is a Cuencano take on the American breakfast, served with pancakes (or French toast), bacon and eggs. Coffee is freshly brewed. Service could be better. The waitress disappears after serving food. Meal type: Breakfast Food: 3 Service: 3 Atmosphere: 5
