This restaurant and Hongwanji Toyama Betsuin can be both really attractive for tourists. Warairo is recommended for the creative staff. The terrific service is something these restaurateurs care about. The calm atmosphere may make you want to stay here for a bit longer than you've originally planned. Super popular place full of locals and friendly staff! English menu available and staff speak English. Food was AMAZING! Had the Warairo salad (spinach, mushrooms, corn, bacon, a soft boiled egg), corn tempura (first time trying and it’s not even baby corn), crab croquette (soooo good), UME SHISHO (chopped cartilage with pickled plum which you wrap with seaweed to eat - wonderful appetiser if you like pickled stuff and some crunch). The prawn balls and human were almost the size of tennis balls, so be careful to not over order. Highly recommend this place! Best food I've had in Japan, the sashimi was amazingly fresh and I have never had such good croquettes in my life with such generous amounts of crab on top. The staff here are super friendly and go to lengths to explain what the food is. There's an English menu available but customers can smoke inside.
