Located in a renovated traditional home, Wataya is highly recommended! I enjoyed a delicious teishoku-style meal of chicken and vegetables in a black vinegar sauce. It was served with rice, miso soup, pickles, and two side dishes - all for only ¥1,000! Other set meals around the same price: tempura, ginger pork, fried chicken If you want something special, try their ¥3,300 dinner set (reservation required). The lovely woman who served me was super friendly. The place was very clean and clutter free. Table seating. There was also another room where a group was enjoying a private party.
