Stayed at Himalayan Lodge, just north of Toktok on the Everest Base Camp (EBC) trek, and it was exactly what I needed after long day on the trail. The place is well-kept, clean, and run by people who actually care about trekkers. Rooms: Basic but comfortable. Clean beds, warm blankets, and enough space to sort out your gear. Waking up to a view of the Himalayas right outside your window is something else. Food: Solid and filling. Had dal bhat and a few other dishes—everything was fresh and hit the spot after a day of climbing. Good portions, too. Atmosphere: Warm and welcoming without being over the top. There’s a fire in the common area, which makes for a great spot to unwind and trade stories with other trekkers. Service: Friendly and efficient. The staff know the trail, offer good advice, and make sure you have what you need. No unnecessary fuss—just solid hospitality. Extras: Hot showers IN THE ROOM and WiFi, which, in this part of the world, is a luxury. Everything is well-maintained, which isn’t something you can say about every lodge on the EBC route. Bottom line? If you're trekking to Everest Base Camp and need a reliable, comfortable place to rest, Himalayan Lodge is a great choice. Would stay here again without a second thought. Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
