The food was so good that I had to leave a review. I’m new(ish) to the area, but Wavey Kitchen will definitely be my go-to spot for Caribbean food. I had the curry mutton and my friend had the jerk chicken. We tried each other’s dishes and both were absolutely delicious. The meat was so tender it fell straight off the bone. Here you actually get meat, whereas at some restaurants you get more bones than meat. The portions were generous too. The coleslaw fresh. My friend enjoyed my curry mutton so much he even ordered a curry mutton to take away after finishing his jerk chicken. I’d also like to mention that I can be quite particular about hygiene and where I eat. After checking out the restaurant, I felt completely comfortable ordering food there. I saw a previous review mentioning the oxtail, so I’ll definitely be going back to try that next time too. Price per person: £10–20 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

I had a meal £12.50p with rice un peas with stew chicken, nothing else, no sides, no nothing. It came in a brown box of medium size with a measured portion inside! As you can imagine, the portion was very small for a hungry person, I never was given a choice according to my hunger of what size box I wanted eg. Small, medium, large. I also ordered a dumpling, Jesus christ, the dumpling was small, the dumplings are £1:50 each. ALL IN ALL I spent £14 for a 'Snack'. HonestTaste verdict: rice un peas was dry and a little tasteless, BUT not the worst I have had from these fast food shops. Its alo better than others! Stew chicken tasted ok compared to other places. the meat was white indicating the better choice of chicken meat! However, there was defo not enough for the price! Dumplings we're just dumplings, you can't really go wrong with them. VERDICT: i would not go back again for a 'measured portion' of rice & chicken costing £12 50p, its a ridiculous amount. I would rather stay at home and cook it myself for that price and have a decent portion of food. NO i would not recommend it to anyone whos hungry! I would love to support my fellow Black business but unfortunatly the business ethics are all wrong here. ITS NOT about how much a customer pays, it about recieving great tasting food thats value for the money you pay. I highly recommend the fix 'Measured' portions are revised! REVISED REVIEW I thought i would give this business a second chance seeing as I was in the neighbourhood and...... WOW....WOW....wow!! I am so glad that I did. THE IMPROVEMENTs A much, much, muchhhhhh....better portion of food! (5 stars ) A complimentary little pot of coleslaw, which sets them apart from other places! (5 stars ) The dumplings have grown in size, which makes them more appealing, and they aint greasy, but nice and fluffy. (5 stars ) VERDICT: A fantastic turn around, this business deserves the credit given! Why? Beacuse they listened to what the customer wanted and acted. That is the making of true success! Well done Has this business earned my favour? YES Would i recommend eating here? YES NOTE: A full 5 stars will be given upon more requent satisfactory visits and different food tasting! I am looking forward to seeing whats on the menu next!...Mutton Jerk Curried chicken. So far, this place with all its improvements, right now is NO 1 on my list within Nottingham! The lady that takes your order, needs to fix her stiff face. Why can't you smile or have some sort of enthusiasm, we're your customers that pay your bills. The young girl is just the same crack a smile or something. Definitely mother & daughter. The food was ok, nothing special. ( dumplings & festivals where so oily and definitely NOT fresh Infact there the worst ive had ) Could of been cleaner aswell. First and last time I will be going there.. RUDEEEEEE PEOPLE!!!!
