Ali, Your Aash-e-reshte was delicious! It truly hit the spot— That is, the spot I have in me as an Iranian-American who always searched and starved for her culture and its ancient recipes ever since I was awakened to it as a young teenager. I was in the neighborhood of south Austin by chance on the fateful day of a Texan spring cold front. I had been meaning to visit WhataKabob once I learned you had Aash-e-reshte. I only wish I had ventured to your business sooner especially during these recent difficult times. I did not get to enjoy it until my Saturday plans were completed and I made my way home to the other side of town. It was certainly worth the trip. I made two separate orders and received two 12 oz portable cups of the green stew generously topped with marinated onions, kashk, alongside a small packet of salt and two plastic spoons within a stapled paper bag with my name on it. It reheated perfectly. It brought me back to the days I spent with my family in Iran, driving through the cold, misty mountains near Shomal. I remembered the local road side stands high up there that had Aash-e-reshte brewing in humongous pots on wood fire all day for travelers and families alike to stop and warm up while on their get-aways from the heat of a bustling Tehran in summer. Your Aash was just like that. I hope Aash-e-reshte stays on your menu as not everyone has the patience to make it. I would’ve liked the option to add a side noon(bread) for a small charge. You may even consider offering the options if small and a large portions. Thank you so much again! I wish you well in your endeavors as a precious local business. Maryam, thank you for the kind words. We are so glad you enjoyed our Aashe Reshteh. We know this type of delicious and healthy food is hard to find in Austin, which is exactly why we wanted to include it on our menu. Thank you again for stopping by, and we hope you get to try more items soon. Also, the Aash does have a larger option with a side of bread. I am curious why it was not showing up for you, but as you mentioned, Aash with warm bread is even better :)
