Stopped at this pub for lunch while we were sailing down the canal. There were 5 of us plus a dog. My nephew is 9 and my mum has quite advanced dementia, so we are a hasslesome group. Food was lovely, but the service was just outstanding. My mum often gets confused so she stood up to hug the manger when she came over to the table. Manager was completely unfazed - big hug in return, asked how she was doing, said it was so good to see her. Might seem like a small thing but honestly meant the world to us. My mum was so chuffed that she’d got it right. She was so relaxed and happy she ate all her dinner. It was the calmest and jolliest I’ve seen her in about a year. They brought water over for our dog and asked if she could have a treat too. Stopping here for lunch made it one of the best days of our holiday. Amazing team. Service: 5
