Amazing brioche, buttery but not heavy at all. If you have never been to Whey, you can try their lunch set first. Reasonable price and reasonable portion. The service was also attentive and friendly. There's an add on option for the abalone noodle, the abalone was really tender and flavorful. But if you're not an abalone fan, might not be your dish. 2nd visit at Whey. Everything still stood out as I expected, from the Pie Tee to the entry, from the old friend Buah Keluak brioche to the mains. The fragrance of each dish really made me put down all prejudices of carbs for the time while I enjoyed them. The staff is attentive and welcoming as always. Will come back to continue the culinary journey. Meal type: Lunch Price per person: $500+ Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

Whey is a 1-star contemporary restaurant known for its Singaporean influenced cuisine. Online reservation is straightforward. The main dining room is spacious and elegant. Servers might not be rude, but a couple of them are not that friendly. Although there is only one tasting menu (HK$ 1,398/person) for dinner, the details are wrongly printed. Each dish is presented with an introduction which sounds like a recording in the fast-forwarding mode. The fusion-based courses are beautifully presented, with all the sauces being served at the table. While seafood is the main ingredient for most of the dishes, the heavy seasonings are simply too overpowering. Honestly, the freshness is all gone by the time the food enters the mouth. Highlight of the evening is the surprisingly refreshing abalone cold pasta “Asam Laksa Dry Noodles – abalone, lamma hae bee”, which costs HK$288/person additionally. For a dinner that costs HK$2,000/person, there are definitely better options in town. Meal type: Dinner Food: 2 Service: 3 Atmosphere: 4
