The food was outstanding and the staff were great. Charlie was very attentive and helpful. There are so many excellent gluten free options too. We will be visiting again next time we are in York. Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5 Meal type: Dinner Price per person: £60–70 Dietary restrictions: There are heaps of gluten free options.

Our host (the manager) was excellence personified and she really knew her wines and how to look after a table of 6 tourists visiting York. The barman and all the staff made us feel very welcome and we were looked after perfectly and had a wonderful evening. Our wine was decanted on their recommendation and could be expected to cost more than it did. A 2019 St Emilion Grand Cru for £85 was a joy to savour and the medium rare Chateaubriand was perfectly cooked food heaven. I can't recommend the Whippet Inn highly enough.10 stars!
