This bar and Guildhall can be both really attractive for tourists. According to the clients' comments, British dishes here are tasty and the menu is well-organized. Most guests recommend trying good ribeye, cauliflower cheese and bacon. You can share tasty sticky toffee pudding, panna cotta and vanilla ice cream with your friends and have a nice time here. Delicious malbec, lager or gin are the best drinks of The Whippet Inn. It might be cool to try great tonic, espresso or juice.

Prices here are reported to be low. You will certainly appreciate the pleasant atmosphere and homey decor. This bar is rated on Google 4.5 by its guests.

Called here for our lunch with our whippet, we googled pubs that allow dogs and this one popped up. The place is very nice indeed. Angus that served us and greeted us was so welcoming and attentive. The drinks selection is great with beautiful wines. The food we had was stunning. Wonderful steak sandwiches, not your average pub grub at all. Can’t fault it. We visited The Whippet Inn in York for a special occasion, but unfortunately, we left completely disappointed and would suggest people do not waste their money here. We ordered the 800gr Chateaubriand to share for £110. For that price, you expect the meat to be the spectacular centerpiece of the meal. Instead, the portion felt incredibly small and was hidden under a pile of green leaves. Our total bill came to £150 for the steak, two drinks, and two nibbles, yet we both went home feeling hungry!!! The cooking was ok-ish. We were encouraged by staff to order the steak medium-rare, but the middle arrived extremely rare even for my wife, who normally prefers her meat rare. To make matters worse, one of the nibbles we ordered was the bread and butter, and the bread was visibly stale. The only saving grace was that the service was good, but the food simply did not live up to the price tag. We will not be going back. Food: 1 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 2 Price per person: £100+
