The White House is a nice pub in a really nice area, and it has recently been refurbished to a high standard. Always remember it serving decent quality food. However, from our recent experience they're trying to pass off the food as upmarket gastropub quality with the same prices. We really didn't enjoy our food because it wasn't the quality we expected. Everything we chose from the menu is supplied by a third party, which doesn't give the kitchen staff much autonomy over quality. And it showed when one of the pies only had gravy in it. I'd be interested to see how the other items on the menu are cooked and presented. But we chose to play it safe this time due to the new management, and regrettably ordered the pub classics. We won't be returning for food. However, the service was good, pint decent and we didn't pay for our food. Food: 2 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 2
