This is a rather small hole in the wall Italian food joint in Galt. Never heard of Galt? Most people have not, except the people that live there I guess. This is actually famous for foodies and has been for over 40 years. Many people that live in Modesto, Ceres, Lodi, Merced and even up in Sacramento will jump on Hiway 99 just to go here. I've eaten here dozens and dozens of time for many years. It is consistent. The bread with oil and balsamic is excellent. I think they bake it here. The oils are high quality and taste like California oil, which I do believe it is. The pastas are filling American style which is home made style. They have never changed and are always great. Think Olive Garden, that international conglomerate chain, when it comes to the menu. Yet how good these menu items can be when home made at a single independent family owned restaurant. That's what Wholey Ravioli is.

The food is good and the staff are friendly but do not deviate from the regular menu. I ordered chicken Parmesan and asked for a white sauce instead of a marinara sauce and they brought it to me with the correct sauce however, when I was charged for the Chicken Parmesan and also for a second meal, fettuccine. I Spoke with the manager about it in a very polite way and she said you asked for a white sauce and that comes with fettuccine. So my comment was if I'm going to be charged for two meals then I should receive everything that each meal comes with not just have fettuccine put on my plate next to the chicken Parmesan. She just walked away would not adjust my bill so I paid it and probably won't go back to that place again even though the food was good there's always some plays better such as Olive Garden. If I'm going to pay $40 for two meals that actually is two items on one plate, then I would rather go to Olive Garden and get two full meals for the same price And the food is much better.meals for that price

Came from Elk Grove to try it. Service was slow. People friendly. Plenty of off site parking. Almost too much food. Soup, salad and entree plus bread and bland dip. Had the chicken alfredo pasta. Grilled chicken was great. Cheese on the pasta was different than what I expected.
