we as a group had chosen to have the degustation menu with top end sommelier selection. firstly we weer served an aperitif meringue plus duck pate, complementary!
first course a crab dish, very tasty. second course, pork belly, very tasty. third course, duck cocked pink on some yellowy jus of non descript flavour, cold and rubbery!. fourth course, lamb, also cold. all serves were the smallest I've ever found, anywhere!
Wine, selections premium! The whites were passable. the reds unfortunate to say the least. The sommelier managed to reach across the table on a number of occasions to pore wine back handed, serving up any sediment there may have been in these very young, premium wines! his manner was quite aloof, rude almost.
All in all, a most unexpected and disappointing evening! Not likely to return in a hurry.
