Come here for a meal right after seeing Auditorio Guelaguetza. If you have never come across Fusion cuisine, you should order a table and try the menu at this restaurant. A lot of reviewers think that you can have tasty squash risotto, pork and ceviche here. It's worth coming to Xaok for good brioches. Delicious beer will make your meal better and you'll certainly come back. It's time to degustate great lemonade.

My experience was just ok. The restaurant is beautiful. Service was very kind, albeit slow. I had flag someone down multiple times and there was a lot of time between gorgeous. All of my dishes lacked flavor and were over-garnished, in my opinion. The special offering by the chef, the soup, and the soft shell crab tacos all needed salt, spice, something more interesting. Nothing was bad, but everything was just okay. I didn’t eat anything I would recommend or return for. Food: 3 Service: 3 Atmosphere: 5

After trying Levadura de Olla, I can wholeheartedly Xaok is a slept on restaurant. I had their quail with mole dish, and this by far was my favorite meal in Oaxaca after trying tons of other restaurants, and that’s saying a lot because some of the other restaurants like Casa Oaxaca or Las Quince Letras also had some fantastic dishes. Honestly, the flavors at Xaok is everything I had hoped LO would have - staying true to native cuisine while elevating the food to delectable flavors. It just goes to show that Michelin isn’t always a purveyor of taste, but also experience and art. Where Xaok lacks in the showiness of LO, it more than makes up in the meal department.
