Simply some of the best food I've had in this area. The Khao Soup (believe that's the name?) and pad kee mao were unbelievable. Pad kee mao is a favorite Thai dish of mine. I've had it at Pad Thai Cafe in the boro as well as all over the world. Only saying that to say this stands up to all of them and is quite possibly my favorite I've ever had. Friendly family staff waiting on you. The Laobeer was excellent as well as all the spices they have at the table. I'll be going again and again!

I dined at Xingha Sab Bor Lao Restaurant on Sunday, June 4, 2023 at 12:30 pm. The restaurant was clean and spacious with few tables. It looked pretty slow as there were only a few diners seated at the time. So there was no wait. There were pieces of colorful and ethnic art on the wall that brought a nice contrast to the neutral palette of the overall ambience. The food here was certainly authentic and homey. The fresh spring rolls were thicker than most restaurants', but delivered in flavor and freshness. The steamed dumplings tasted odd like it was under seasoned or the meat filling was old. The papaya salad was ordered at a spice level of 2/5 and I thought it was the perfect amount of spice considering my spice tolerance is average to low. The pad-kra paoh (holy-basil stir fry) was ordered at a spice level of 3/5, but it wasn't spicy at all, surprisingly. However, I thought it was a very nice comfort dish that was well seasoned. I appreciate that the dish didn't use green peppers and instead went with red and yellow. This is the type of dish I would go for seconds at home and highly recommend. One of the same dish had an egg that was cooked over-hard, which was disappointing because this dish is traditionally eaten with a runny yolk.  The braised pork belly and boiled egg looked like it was served with cuts that were mostly fat and not much meat, but everything else about the sauce and flavor was on point. Service was excellent. Very friendly and attentive enough without being obtrusive. Waters were refilled and food came out in decent time. Overall, I had a pleasant dining experience. The food was good authentic, but needed some minor improvements. I liked how there was a variety of condiments at the table and that there was a spicy tray available upon request. A very solid 4-star restaurant.
