I found Yemanja through the app Raisin that has never disappointed me when trying to find new restaurants (especially as a natural wine lover). This time my expectations were exceeded. The flavours, the ingredients, the wines - exceptional!! We arrived late to our booking but were met with friendly faces. My partner speaks French but getting service in English was no problem either. The food is supposed to be shared dishes so we ended up ordering one of each dish. This was a great way to taste a little bit of everything and since we wanted to have a full dinner it was more than enough! The staff really knows their wines too. I could see myself coming here for an aperitif and have/share a small dish - however why not go elsewhere after you taste the food here Can’t recommend Yemanja enough. I come to La Rochelle few times a year and have always thought highly of the local food scene but Yemanja will be my new go to. Really like how they support local artist too and you can buy their work displayed at the restaurant.
