Their bagels are mid and their sandwich’s sloppy. They cut corners on ingredients which impact the quality and taste. Only go here if your normal spot is closed, this should never be your first choice. Food: 2 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 3

Would You Walk 5.5 miles round trip to eat at a hole in the wall bagel Cafe? Wife and I walked 2.7 miles from our timeshare on 7th and 56th to Yorkville Bagel & Cafe on 2nd and 94th. Fellow Yelper Marianne W had arrived early to grab a table. We had missed her last time in Manhattan in October due to severe allergies to pollen in the air. Marianne rushed over here and got here early, to hold two tables together. All unnecessary as the place was empty when we sat down at 9:10am on a Wednesday. My wife nodded her approval between bites on the Italian omelette with sausage, tomatoes, onions and mozzarella cheese. Marianne looked incredulous at my wife eating a freshly made bagel toasted but with no Jam no butter on it. Now I wasn't walking 2.7 miles to an ordinary bagel cafe. This place had a full scale buffet with loads of hot foods, at $12 a lb. Paid $18 for my buffet, which included a credit card service charge. Marianne looked on with envy as I wolfed down all those foods she couldn't eat: ribs covered with tomato based bbq sauce, fried egg rolls, and fried butterfly shrimp, all delicious. She would have tried the ribs if she could leave the bones in the buffet trays. She regularly eats the meatballs and basa, which I found a bit bland. Almost missed the basa, as looked like enchiladas from a distance. First time here, but Marianne W has been here several hundred times. Don't know of anyone else who has posted 1237 pictures in Yelp of a hole in the wall.
