Was on our way from tsumago to takayama, found this warm & homey izakaya on Google Map (prior to mine there were only 2 reviews, both 5-star). Although this place is kinda far out, highly recommend if you are nearby or passing through. Apologies for the food photos, we only thought of taking the photos after we finished half of them (which went on to show how delicious and homey they were). I think it is semi-omakase, what the owner prepares on that evening, she serves it to her guests....I think you can order Ala carte, but since I dont speak japanese I just had what she served. The appetizer was braised chicken and daikon which must have been cooked since the afternoon that it was full of flavor and so tenderous. Main course were tori karaage and BBQ pork cutlet, carbs of the day was spaghetti (al dente no less!!) tossed with cheese with delicious local tomato and cabbage on the side. The owner is a very sweet obasan who will feed you full! Although she does not speak a word of English, she receipted us with warmth and was extremely friendly (Google translate helped a lot)!
