I’m going to be extremely honest in my review, I don’t mean to be rude. I was honestly very underwhelmed. My sister and I initially wanted to try this bc we kept seeing videos all over TikTok about how delicious the food was. It’s not bad but keep in mind that the bowls start at $27 plus the add ons. We added 4 items on each which made the bowl add up to $43, in total we paid $100 (w/ discount) on Grubhub for two bowls. The bowls are pretty big, but I feel like the price is not justified for example a cup of ramen noodles costed $4 when ramen noodles cost like 40 cent-$2. I’m sorry but for me to pay $43 for a bowl of food I’m going to have to REALLY love it and unfortunately this was not the case. We actually didn’t end up finishing the food which is a rare occurrence bc we LOVE food lol. I just simply did not enjoy the taste of the food or the price. Everyone has different preferences this was just my and my siblings experience with the food.

Very small dinning area and limited parking. Came during the afternoon and was seated right away. It does get full around the evening and the wait time can be around 20 mins so I suggest coming before 5pm for little to no wait time. We ordered the original yupdduck with a couple add ons and the DIY rice balls which was a fun experience. I recommend extra cheese if you are a cheese person like me. The cheese pulls were amazing! Great food and fast service.

Yup Dduk LA - a Koreatown classic. The best spot for some tteokbokki. I opted for the lowest spice level to test the waters. Turns out, even the mild spice level packs a punch! So, if you're not a heat warrior, maybe consider another place. Now, let's talk about the star of the show - the mozzarella cheese. Major recommendation! It's like the perfect sidekick to the heat. The gooey, melty goodness cools things down just enough to keep you coming back for more of that delicious heat. The location is a bit on the small side, so be ready for a wait, especially during peak hours. But trust me, it's worth it. The cozy ambiance and the sizzle of the hot plates make it a unique dining experience. The staff was on point - friendly and efficient despite the bustling crowd. They know their stuff and are more than happy to guide you through the menu if you're a newbie. In a city filled with Korean spots, Yup Dduk LA stands out for its bold flavors and commitment to spice.
