Pork shank and pumpkin soup are must orders! Rosti is on the thicker side.

So we had just arrived in Zurich after a red-eye flight and had spent most of the day taking cat naps and drinking some vino to get into the European Thanksgiving mindset. After walking around Bahnhofstrasse to see all the luxury shopping, we decided to check into this joint located right behind the Hermes with no knowledge of it. We stepped in and were greeted warmly by the folks. The set up is basically a beer hall and they have a great selection of beers and of course swiss/german style food. The ambiance is great and the service fast and efficient. After a quick peruse, we decided to order the sausage specialties on a skewer (Zeughauskeller Wurstpiess) and the Weinerschnitzel and tried a few of their house beers. The beers were delicious and cold so perfect way to kick off a Europe trip. The food came out pretty fast and the Schnitzel was good texture and breaded great. The fries were obviously good but was really hankering for a potato salad that would accompany it. All good though as it was definitely a solid schnitzel. The sausage plate was good also. Definitely a good way to try many samples but I wish I had just ordered a proper wurst. This was a great starting meal for sure and a great spot to hit up food as well. Glad we tried this spot. Check it out!
